Who was not familiar with AMG series issued by Mercedes? The exquisite gullwing door design makes anyone want to try this car. But this time, Mercedes wants to give a new nuance to the AMG series flagship by launching the first-conventional 2019-2020 Mercedes-AMG GT4. This project has reached the final stage, meaning it is ready to be marketed globally.
2019-2020 Mercedes-AMG GT4 adopts the design of other Mercedes flagship products: GT concept. Conventional body shape with streamlined design makes this car go faster. In addition, the changes also include longer chassis and reduced wheelbase.
It is a big phenomenon for AMG and Mercedes lovers as there is a the presence of two pairs additional doors. That is why the design is called as conventional. When compared with its predecessor, the SLS AMG, GT4 feels a bit “plain and normal” yet still has that taste of supercar kicking from its design.
This car will be embedded with V-8 twin-turbocharged engine with capacity of each cylinder as much as 4 liters. This machine is expected to provide of 500hp, thus making the car can be sped up to maximum of 190 mph.
To accompany the presence of V-8 engine, Mercedes also implanted electric motor at the rear of the car. This motor will provide approximately 805hp for a short period of time.
Moreover, Mercedes is already planning to switch to hybrid cars, given Euro3 regulations and the development of world markets that are more in favor towards eco-friendly energy. Predictably, GT4 will adopt hybrid concept that has been discussed before. However, the presence of electric motor is only used for backup power, when the V-8 engine is not able to perform its role.
As already announced, 2019-2020 Mercedes-AMG GT4 has reached the final stage. Mercedes hopes GT4 can come to appear at 2018 Geneva International Motor Show on 6 March. After going through the test market, this car is ready to be sold at price in the range of $150,000.
